Le Dix

Viña Los Vascos
In the land of Los Vascos, cultivation is at our heart; cultivating not only vineyards but our dream to transform our vast land into a fruitful eco-system producing the most elegant Chilean wines. We are free spirited but remember our heritage. Our holistic approach encompasses and protects all - from our short-legged sheep clearing weeds without devouring precious grapes to our artisans honing hand-made knives to carefully tend the vines. We embody the Chilean paradox, meticulous in our work, easy going and warm in our personality. We are independent yet proud to cultivate our community because we are stronger and happier together.

The vintage
The season began with a relatively dry winter, with a cumulative rainfall of only 300 mm, almost half that for last year. Temperatures during the winter varied between 1°C and 21°C (averages of the minimum and maximum temperatures), which is consistent with normal averages. Spring was generally warm in the region, with temperatures reaching 30°C. The presence of high temperatures combined with the low rainfall during the winter resulted in the decision to bring irrigation forward to the spring. The high temperatures continued into the summer, obliging us to start the harvest 20 days earlier than in the previous season.
The harvests took place from 21 to 25 March.

Tasting notes
This wine presents a deep ruby red color.
The nose is beautifully complex with notes of plums, cherries and liquorice with spicy undertones of nutmeg, cinnamon and white pepper.
On the palate, the wine shows a good volume and structure with nice mature tannins balanced by a good concentration. Le Dix 2017 presents a good ageing potential. Serve at 16-18ºC.
